Musings of a data scientist

Hello

I am a UK based statistician and data scientist, currently heading up the data science and statistics function for one of the UK’s largest professional bodies.

I have an interest in using machine learning to predict learner behaviour and performance in education and specialise in assessment measurement models such as item response theory.

This website began as an online repository of R code to create charts and visualisations, mostly for my own reference on my journey of learning R, having found I often needed to read several online tutorials to get what I needed.

Since then the site has grown to thousands of users a month and I now post anything from simple ggplot2 tutorials to data art and general articles on artificial intelligence, data science and analytics.

I hope you find the site useful and informative. If you’d like to get in touch I am always happy to offer expertise or help.

If you need any help with any of the above, please get in touch.
